At approx. 2:43pm, Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One was dispatched as automatic aid with DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department for a residential structure fire on South Front street in DeQuincy.

Upon arrival of the first due units, heavy smoke was coming from the rear of the structure. Firefighters utilized a transitional fire attack to reset the fire and made entry. The fire was confined to the room of origin and attic space above the room. Heat and smoke damage through several rooms.

HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT was requested to provide an Engine for standby coverage at Ward 6 Station. Houston River Rehab unit responded to the scene.

Beauregard Parish Fire District 2 responded with an Engine company and 3 firefighters as mutual aid.

Ward 6 Fire Explorers assisted with firefighters rehab on scene.
