Ward Six Firefighters were called to respond to a structure fire this evening on High Hope Road.
Upon our arrival, smoke was showing from the eaves of the large home. We found heavy smoke in the attic and attacked the fire, which was also found in the attic. We were able to contain the fire to a small area.
Quick actions of the owner’s teenaged son noticing the smoke and calling 911, a fast response along with quick fire attack saved the home.
Automatic aid was received from Houston River and DeQuincy Fire Depts. Great job everyone!
