At 8:57pm, Ward 6 Engines 5, 7, and Service 6 with 9 firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 400 blk of Hwy 389.
DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department and HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT were also dispatched as automatic aid.
Upon arrival, firefighters made an offensive fire attack and extinguished the room and contents fire in the laundry room. The rest of the structure had smoke damage. Homeowner arrived home and discovered the fire.
