Our area is still in a drought, the rain we have seen the past week has done very little to affect the drought conditions. Below are the rain total accumulations throughout the Ward 6 Fire district since 9-8-2023. Reminder, these are 7 day totals. The source of this data are monitoring stations on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury One Rain System.

Cypress Creek @ Holbrook Park rd. = 0.79" rain (7 day total)
Little River @ Holbrook Park Rd = 0.97" rain (7 day total)
West Fork @ Holbrook Park = 0.52" rain (7 day total)

As you can see, the district needs several inches of rains over several days to affect our drought conditions. Please be vigilant and don't burn. Ward 6 Fire participates in weekly surveys about the burn ban and current drought conditions with the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal . |
