Their is still a burn ban in the State of Louisiana The drought conditions still exist, the little rainfall has helped but we are not out of the woods. We have started getting calls of people burning, please wait to burn. Ward 6 Fire participates in a survey every Tuesday with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal, Louisiana Deptartment of Agriculture & Forestry, and fire chiefs from throughout the state. The burn ban is still active and will be reviewed again on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Below are the rain total accumulations throughout the Ward 6 Fire district since 9-9-2023. Reminder, these are 7 day totals. The source of this data are monitoring stations on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury One Rain System.
