One Engines 5, 7, Service 10 and unit 902 with 10 firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 1100 blk of Gideon Road.

HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT and
DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department responded as automatic aid.

Upon arrival of Unit 902, Fire was observed coming from the attic on the west side of the structure. Firefighters conducted an offensive fire attack to extinguish the fire. Crews also utilized salvage covers to protect the contents from water damage. The fire was quickly extinguished.

The fire appears to have started due to high winds blowing a tree into the electrical service line which damaged the weather head and electrical systems.

Cleco responded to secure the electrical service.
