At around 1:30pm the Calcasieu Parish E911 Center lost the ability to receive 911 calls for service from most wireless devices and IP based phone systems. At this time we are unsure as to the cause of the outage, but understand that it is affecting most of Louisiana.

In Calcasieu Parish we are still able to receive 911 calls from some landline phones and we are able to receive text-to-911 calls. If you have an emergency and your cell phone or landline cannot successfully dial 911, please try texting 911.
