Command 901, Engine 7, Brush UTV 21 and 22 responded.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in a heavily wooded area. Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry was requested to respond to plow containment lines. Fire control lines were plowed around the fire area to prevent the fire from spreading.

ALERT!!!!! As of today, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has implemented a burn ban for all of Calcasieu Parish prohibiting outdoor burning of trash, limbs, leaves, or other materials due to dry conditions.

Cooking fires in enclosed BBQ pits are allowed but please dispose of coals appropriately and have sufficient water available should embers start a fire.
