| On Sunday, March 15 at 5:05pm, Ward 6 Fire Engine 5, Command Units 901 & 903 responded to a reported vehicle crash on Hwy 27 @ Grape Street.
On arrival of Command Unit 901, a passenger vehicle was observed in the ditch and a truck towing a 40 ft travel trailer was partially blocking the southbound lane. Firefighters provided first aid to the driver of the passenger car until arrival of Acadian Ambulance. The driver initially refused transport to a hospital; however, was transported to WCCH later in the incident for evaluation.
The travel trailer was significantly damaged and required heavy duty wreckers to remove it from the truck. Firefighters assisted LSP with traffic control until the roadway was cleared at about 11:00pm. |
