At 2:55 this afternoon, we were called to respond to a grass fire off of High Hope Road. We responded with 2 engines and a brush unit. We also requested mutual aid assistance from HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT. They responded with 2 brush units to assist us with containment. We cleared the scene at 5:15pm.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind folks that we are in a drought situation, so please be mindful of burning large piles of logs or large areas of land. If you feel you must burn, please have a water source readily available, fire lanes plowed around the perimeter and remain with the fire at all times.
