They respond day or night, even when it’s 100 degrees outside, even when they have to get up and go to work their regular jobs the next morning, and even after working their regular jobs all day long, even after getting only a few hours sleep the night before because they were working another emergency most of the night.

They still respond. And they respond because they love the citizens and love helping others. There are instances when they are made to feel unwelcome by property owners on the scenes. Even so, they still respond.

When we are paged by 911, all 23 of our members receive that page. The ones who are available respond to that emergency. We never know if we need 2 Firefighters on scene or 20 until we can get there and see what the emergency consists of.

We just want to thank our volunteers who respond. Our volunteers make up our department and the departments surrounding us. Without our volunteers, there is no fire department.

Volunteers: You are appreciated by most of our citizens. Don’t ever forget that.
