Ward 6 crews interfaced with search crews from BFD 2 and MedExpress Ambulance service to successfully perform rescues.
Once rescues were competed in that area units were staged at the incident command post at St. Plus Catholic Church and tasked with missions until search operations were called off for the night dye to safety for searchers conducting night time operations.
Agencies from Beauregard Parish and Calcasieu Parish worked together on this large scale event. Agencies involved are listed below: Beauregard Parish Fire District 2, Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, Beauregard Parish Offiice of Emergency Preparedness, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Ward 1 Fire Department-Calcasieu Parish, Westlake Fire Department -Calcasieu Parish, and Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One -Calcasieu Parish.
On Jan. 25 at 7:30 am, Ward 6 Unit 901 and UTV 21, Unit 902 with 3 firefighters returned to the Incident Command post and assisted Beauregard FD 2 and Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office with secondary search operations and conducted damage assessments of the affected areas.
All Ward 6 units were back in the Ward 6 district by 1:30pm.
While we may be from different departments and parishes, all Agencies came together to through mutual aid to provide the area with emergency response services. Working together with Pride, Teamwork, and Excelkence to achieve every rescue and search mission.
