Fire Chiefs from throughout Calcasieu Parish met yesterday to discuss the current burn ban. Today rain is in the forecast and the chiefs plan to monitor weather conditions through the weekend before making a decision to lift the ban or keep it in place.

Saturday, winds will be out of the north from 10 to 15 mph, this will quickly dry dead grasses and foliage, low humidity values on Saturday and Sunday will also be conducive for fires to start and spread.
