One Kid Safery Camp is in full swing, night 3 is 8n the books and it appears the kiddos have enjoyed the first 3 nights.

Thank you to Calcasieu Parish E911 for sending a dispatcher to teach importance of knowing your address and the use of 911.
Each child also practiced calling 911 using a simulator to speak to a 911 duspatcher.

HOUSTON RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT on Monday brought a fire extinguisher prop and each child learned using a fire extinguisher.

On Tuesday night, the kids learned home fire safety and the importance of having an escape plan. The kids were able to practice in a fire safety house loaned to Ward 6 Fire from Beauregard Fire District 1. DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department sent firefighters to assist with the events. The kids also were able to use fire hoses to put out a simulated fire.
