On July 22, 2025, PIAL conducted an audit of the Ward 6 Fire Protection District 1 fire department operations, water systems, and 911 communication systems.

This audit is a comprehensive audit of response capabilities, manpower, training, and equipment of the department. The water system capabilities, hydrants, water mains, and pumping capacity. Communications systems of Calcasieu Parish E911.

The volunteer firefighters work hard to maintain this Class 4 rating so that homeowners insurance companies recognize the capabilities of the fire protection district.
